The New York City chapter would like to thank DinnerGuest Barbara Romer for joining us last night for dinner. Shea was a source of a tremendous amount of advice and inspiration. Just by sharing her story of her own career development — from just after college to barging into McKinsey and basically demanding a job (!) — she offered an encouraging example to her younger sisters.
Dr. Barbara Romer, BA Princeton 1993, PhD Kings College
McKinsey & Company
Barbara’s work experiences include the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art and Christie’s (both in Tokyo), the Musee d’Unterlinden in Colmar, France, the production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in Eastern Germany, and work with McKinsey & Company in both Munich and New York. Finally, she’s the CEO/President of a nonprofit theatre company she founded in 2000 which is currently in its early fundraising stage. Her dinner touched on a “career in the arts” and her “fight against $20,000 salaries.”

Thanks, Barbara!
