The New York City chapter of DinnerGrrls.org would like to thank DinnerGuest Rabia de Lande Long for joining us over dinner last night.  Rabia was a source of a tremendous amount of advice and inspiration. Just by sharing her story of her own career development she offered an encouraging example to her younger sisters.

(While Jamie Heller was unable to attend due to a last-minute obligation, we thank her generous offer and have included her “talking points” below.)

Rabia de Lande Long is an independent consultant in the area of organizational development and change. Through her firm, Rabia collaborates with clients to improve organizational effectiveness. Much of her consulting work involves post-merger integration, organizational redesign, and retooling of human resources programs. Her clients include some of the world’s largest companies in pharmaceuticals, consumer products, financial services, and professional services.

Before launching her consulting practice, Rabia held senior domestic and international HR roles in PepsiCo, GE Capital, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. After her corporate stints, she helped develop the Organizational Change Practice and Price Waterhouse and the People Effectiveness Practice at Ernst & Young.

Rabia is active with several non-profit organizations aimed at enhancing the quality of life and education for children. Rabia lives in Manhattan with her husband, young son, and newborn daughter.
