Help The Teak Fellowship; Meet Great Women

DinnerGrrls.org is excited to invite you to a great evening of connecting great women like you while flexibly raising funds for The Teak Fellowship, a nonprofit founded in 1998 to help talented New York City students from low-income families gain admission to and succeed at top high schools and colleges.  (Fact: poor, smart kids are 61% less likely to graduate from college than rich, smart kids — and 3% less likely to graduate from college than rich, below-average kids.) TEAK’s founder, Justine Stamen Arrillaga, founded it in honor of a former student of hers (a gifted pianist who was murdered in NYC at the age of 17) as well as a former friend (murdered in LA at the age of 18).

Wednesday, September 30th

In order to keep the evening flexibly priced and accommodate as many points along the economic spectrum as possible, we’re starting the night at one location and finishing just down the block.

  • From 6p – 7p, join us in the cafe of the Whole Foods Market on Bowery. You can meet other like-minded women, nosh on whatever you like (simply pay for your selections at the register), and learn more about TEAK in a casual, low-key environment. We’ll be in the area behind the sushiya restaurant near the restrooms.
  • From 7p – 9p, the fun continues just south on Bowery at KATRA Lounge, 217 Bowery.
