Post image for New Yorkers: Share Advice With Undergrads

DinnerGrrls in NYC: informally share  your “real world” advice with current Yale undergrads at a casual vegetarian-friendly all-you-can-eat dinner, in partnership with the Women’s Leadership Initiative, an undergraduate organization at Yale.  Plus, you’ll get to meet other DinnerGrrls while you’re at it :)

  • Who: Any NYC area woman who believes in a fulfilling, authentic life and career
  • What: Women’s Leadership Initiative @ Yale & DinnerGrrls.org – NYC’s casual din
  • When: Friday, November 13th, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Where: Larosh buffet & restaurant (Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Italian, Seafood, Halal & Vegetarian) – 37 E. 29th Street between Park & Madison
  • Why: Because questions from undergrads will remind you just how much insight you have to offer
  • How: Meet at the DinnerGrrls.org offices at 1201 Broadway Suite 910 for a prompt 6:00 departure to Larosh, or simply join us at the restaurant.  It’s a buffet so yes, you can show up at 6:45 sans censure :)
  • How much:  All you can eat for $9.99 — includes a free fountain soda (holla!)

Dear Dinnergrrls…

Oh, wow… Could I be elated and deflated all in one fell swoop? I’m in San Francisco which is one city where there isn’t a Dinnergrrls event in sight! : ( Wah! (deflating sound…)

However… I am beyond thrilled (re-INFLATE!) to have found this site and am chomping at the bit to read more, nay, all of the many helpful and inspiring passages you have pumped out! I feel like I’ve just been given a box of chocolates and told I can have as many as I want (which incidently, would not be the entire box -I’d share.)
Thank you for giving me a reason not to throw in the towel during weak moments as I wander along my career path and life, and to earnestly reaffirm:
A) to job search like a fiend – and know the right fit is out there
B) to continue believing in the power of networking and to maintain these valuable relationships
C) deciding who my ideal client is… wow. stunning thought!
D) to know it’s ok to want more for myself… And it’s actually more than ok – It’s required of me.
E) feeling validated knowing there are others out there who believe the personal and the professional intertwine and define who we are

Thank you and I will keep reading – happily!
Kristi
