This was a fabulous dinner! It was wonderful to hear stories from professional women of all ages about their experience in the workplace as a women. I really felt like I got to know the women who attended, and I truly enjoyed the conversation.

DinnerGrrls.org is a networking group that connects women who believe that a rewarding, fulfilling career and a rich, interesting life can happily coexist.  Our assumptions?

• In an authentic life, the personal and the professional are interconnected
• How we treat one another is a reflection of how we treat ourselves
• It ain’t gonna happen overnight, yo

So naturally, DinnerGrrls.org approaches professional development from an integrated, holistic point of view.  Which may sound totally corny (cue the Yanni!), and probably is, but ultimately manifests itself in guiding principles like

• You’re probably not going to be satisfied with your work until you’re content with yourself, so don’t neglect your integrated self in pursuit of a corner office, and don’t be afraid to talk about your “personal problems” with other DinnerGrrls
• Coming to an event and showering the room with your business card is untoward, and suggests that you perceive your 1″ x 2″ piece of paper to be more valuable than the pleasure of your company
• Talking smack about your colleagues, your manager, your underlings, or anyone else in your life won’t get you any closer to a corner office, a bigger closet, or, like, universal enlightenment and stuff
