What kinds of events does DinnerGrrls.org host?

EVENTS > TYPES

DinnerGrrls.org hosts casual dinner parties, formal-ish dinners, career development workshops (with food!), dinners with guest speakers, integrated dinner – and – personal development events such as yoga outings and beach days, and more.  The objective of all our events is to create a space in which DinnerGrrls can authentically connect with each other and themselves.

End game? Career bliss, self actualization, and a bottomless bank account ;)

While not a perfect representation of the kinds of events that DinnerGrrls.org 2.0 will host, here’s what our website circa 2002 had to say:

Dinner with Guests

Dinners with guest speakers (female professionals who are established in their fields) are one of the primary ways in which younger professional women can begin to broaden their conception of their own future. While women may look at their current experiences and education and envision a few industries or careers for which they’re applicable, DinnerGuests provide an example of where they actually took their own experiences and education. Oftentimes these directions are unexpected and work to challenge ideas about how and where one can apply their talents and pursue their passions. Dinner with Guests occur monthly and are limited to a dozen attendees.

Dinner with Grrls

Dinners with fellow DinnerGrrls allow for Grrls to collaborate on creative exercises designed to broaden individual career objectives. They also allow the Grrls to share information about their particular industry and job function as well as aspirations and future plans. Whether sharing advice on applying to business school or learning how the publishing industry makes money, Dinner with Grrls is a less formal monthly dinner with no cap on attendance. In addition, by working together on career-building exercises, Grrls are afforded an additional opportunity to stretch their own conception of the future.

After Dinner

After Dinner allow for all Grrls, Guests (past and future), and everyone else interested in DinnerGrrls to come out and meet for dessert. It’s a bi-annual opportunity to touch base, catch up on the past, and share upcoming developments. In addition, it’s an unstructured chance for a potential Grrl or Guest to get a sense for what DinnerGrrls is all about.
